Quality Tools & Continuous Improvement

SMART GOAL:  Everyone has Gym Shoes!

A SMART goal is specific, measurable, attainable, reasonable, and timely.

When everyone in a class wears gym shoes, the class is awarded a gym shoe sticker that is placed on the gym shoe chart.  When the chart is full, the class is rewarded with an extra fifteen minutes of physical education with choice of activity.

Flip Flops are for the Pool!  Gym Shoes are for School!

Students should wear gym shoes to school every day.  Each student has at least one recess every day.  For safety's sake please wear gym shoes.  Students that do not have gym shoes will not be allowed to participate in physical education class, and will not be allowed to do any recess activities that involve climbing and running.

Quality Pierce Students wear gym shoes to school everyday!

Fitness Testing and Goals (Grades 3-5)

Students in grades 3-5 will be tested in the Fall and Spring in six different areas: Mile Run (cardiovascular endurance), Flexed Arm Hang (upper body strength), Curl-Ups (abdominal strength), Trunk Lift (back flexibility), Sit & Reach (lower body flexibility), and Shoulder Flexibility
Students will set goals for themselves in each area.  Goal sheets with fitness scores will be kept in the student's classroom data folder.  All fitness tests are from Fitness Gram.

Self Evaluations - Roller Skating

Students will fill out roller skating radar charts at the end of January.  These will be placed in Data Folders.  Students will be sharing their self evaluations with their parents at February Conferences.
