Meet Mrs. Cobert
Mrs. Stephanie Cobert is the counselor at Pierce Elementary. Prior to joining the staff at Pierce, she was a middle school counselor at Center Point-Urbana, a fourth grade teacher at CPU, and a second grade teacher at BCLUW. Mrs. Cobert grew up in Vinton, Iowa. She graduated from Mount Mercy College with an Elementary Education degree including endorsements in reading, social studies/social science, language arts and a coaching authorization. She received her Masters’ Degree in School Counseling from Drake University.
Mrs. Cobert's husband, Jeremy, works at Rockwell in the technology field. They have daughters named Sophie and Gabrielle. Mrs. Cobert enjoys spending time with her daughters, scrapbooking and other crafts, playing board games, spending time with family and friends, and playing with their dog, Darby.
The goal of the Pierce counseling program is to provide a comprehensive developmental program for all students. This will include consultation with teachers, staff, and parents to enhance the effectiveness in helping students grow in their academic, social, emotional and career development. Mrs. Cobert will provide both individual and small group sessions, as well as teach guidance lessons in the classroom as it pertains to the students’ needs and district goals. Direct counseling support with students will be given through all possible services available. Mrs. Cobert will coordinate and/or conduct activities and programs, which contribute to the effective operation of the school and towards prevention for students, staff, and parents. Mrs. Cobert will also continue to pursue professional growth as a life long learner.
